Parkinson’s disease is a chronic disorder that affects an individual’s movements. As a chronic condition, symptoms continue, and can worsen, over time. The cause of Parkinson’s disease has yet to be determined. While there is not yet a cure for the disease, treatments are available to help manage symptoms.
Symptoms of Parkinson’s disease can include:
-Tremors – especially of the hands when still, but also can occur in the arms, legs, jaw, and face
-Slowness of movement, known as bradykinesia
-Muscle rigidity
-Poor posture and balance
-Speech and writing problems
Please see a doctor if you have any of the above symptoms or further questions.
